This group was formed in the year 2006 by a group of people who were infected with HIV and affected by the scourge. They were faced to a lot of discrimination and stigmatization from the fellow community members. The group consits of 65 members, who meet every Sunday from 2pm at Angola community hall.
Mayenya Upendo is autonomous and has decided to spear head real change and transformation in the entire East Kolwa Location by giving their members an opportunity to know and accept their HIV status. This action was triggered by the fact that many people used to die without knowledge of the cause.

Over the years, the group has developed to be among the best and the most envy institution due to the quality of the basic training it offers with the help of its highly qualified and dedicated founder members. The vision is a materially and spiritually empowered society with less infection and poverty. The overall goal is an enhanced community livingstandard whith a decreasing rate of infection and increasing food- and nutrition-security.
By now there are seven groups. To enable the continuation of this wonderful initiative, Make Me Smile Kenya supported them already in organization, material-, lunch- and transport-costs.

Help us furthermore to support this wonderful initiative!
