Our colleagues of FICE Kenya are glad about their successful first conference, which took place in Nyamasaria Primary School in Kisumu on the 9th and 10th of April. Among 123 participants, the Deputy Governor of Kisumu, the Chief of Staff of the County Government of Kisumu, the Minister of Youth and Social Affairs, Dean of Maseno University – Faculty of Social Sciences – Dr. Felix Kioli-Dean as well as all the member organizations of FICE Kenya took part at the conference. Furthermore FICE South Africa and the South African National Association of Child Care Work (NACCW) held several presentations on their Network of Child and Youth Care Work and its professionalization as well as their Concept of Safe Parks, including a presentation of the same with 220 Children. Moreover, guest speaker Mag. Hermann Radler, President of FICE-Austria, held a presentation on the “Care of Carers” and spoke on behalf of FICE-International.
